The Wave(惡魔教室)

Introduction:

The movie is based on the novel whose story was real and happened at a high school in California. Rainer Wenger, a P.E class teacher, he was set a task to teach totalitarianism. However, students don’t consider fascism as nothing. Thus, in order to persuade the students, Rainer decides to carry an informal experiment. He plays the role of captin of fascism, and students have to follow what he says. They make rules such as that they should wear uniform and get permission before they want to make speech in class. At the very beginning, everything goes on expected; however, the experiment starts to go into wild.

Opinion:

I watched this movie on Freshman Chinese class. Originally I thought it was boring and stupid, nevertheless, I was attracted by it totally and I even search the information about it on the Internet after school. In the movie I see how powerful a group is. For example, the students in the movie they create their slogan and sign in order to be distinguished from others. First, they only do small things together and protect those people in their group. However, because their members are more and more, they become much braver and they start to do something dangerous. In addition, they dislike people who are not involved with them or who cannot agree with their behaviors. I think this is a quite common phenomenon in the society even in school. People usually not dare to do things that they won’t do normally, but when they gather together, they are easily to lose their mind and do dangerous things which might hurt others and also threaten to themselves. To our sorrow, the ending was very bad because there was a student dead and the teacher was caught into prison. Yet again, the power makes people forget the good side of theri hearts.
